Since the 1920s HM Rawat Group has introduced and distributed cutting-edge products to the African continent and the Middle East. With offices and channels in 3 continents, we are uniquely placed as a mediator between emerging industries and consumer trends and the growing demand from the MEA region.
During the late 90’s and early 00’s, the group expanded in the ICT sector by introducing the global leading brand NOKIA to the region. The Group has over 500+ points of sales for consumer electronics around the region. With the industry’s phenomenal advancements in the last decade, other manufacturers’ disruptive innovation meant this industry would quickly become one the most competitive industries in the world. Always being at the forefront of technology, we understood this earlier on and as the leaders of mobile telecommunications in our regions, we introduced APPLE to cater for the high-end demand and other brands in our portfolio below for the different price points of the industry. In 2020, we have signed a strategic partnership with the conglomerate BBK Electronics to officially represent their brands in our markets, namely; OPPO, RealMe and OnePlus.
Our motto being “Votre Garantie de Confiance”, our customers’ satisfaction has always been our drive to continually provide the best service possible. This is why the Group invested very heavily in the development and creation of the first and only Level 3 Repair Centre in the IOI and region. From advance machinery for micro soldering with ESD protection areas to damaged parts re cycling services, our Level 3 Repair centre gives our customers’ the best after sales service. We have been approached by the global leader Huawei to officially represent their after-sales/repair centre for the region.
From as early as 1969, a year after Mauritius gained it’s independence we were present in the booming food industry in Mauritius by introducing the leading German brand MIWE for Bakeries and Restaurants. This department also saw an exponential growth with the Tourism Boom of the Island, the creation of luxury resorts all over the island meant that the group quickly became the leading partner for hotels kitchen equipment and tableware.
The introduction of the British luxury car brand ASTON MARTIN for the region, the first Aston Martin drove in Mauritius in 2006, being the first supercar in Mauritius’ history, we were the pioneers of the now known supercar lifestyle of Mauritius. We have recently expanded this department with introduction the Italian Luxury car brand MASERATI.
The Group invested in the No.1 biggest Fast Food franchise in the world by officially representing SUBWAY for our region. With more than 44,000 locations in 112 countries, SUBWAY Mauritius has been a success for The Group’s expansion into the fast food industry.
The Group created the “Luxury Living” concept under one roof by introducing the leading German high-end kitchen appliance brand MIELE for the region. Being known for it’s high reliability, and being 1 of only 6 official importers of MIELE in Africa this brand caters for the high-end market of the region. To complement our product offering under one roof, we also introduced the Italian Interior Design & Manufacturing company BERLONI. Our team works closely with new home owners or refurbishment companies to uniquely design their home interiors, the plans are then sent to Italy for BERLONI to manufacture all the furniture and fittings accordingly which are then fitted by our team locally.
The Group recently created this department to cater for Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) in all our markets. By representing HAVELLS, a global FMEG company from India. With their market dominance across a wide spectrum of products, including: Industrial & Domestic Circuit Protection Devices, Cables & Wires, Motors, Fans, Modular Switches, Home Appliances, Air Conditioners, Electric Water Heaters, Power Capacitors, Luminaires for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Applications.
The new partnership created with Carrefour group has opened doors to creating and developing the company’s first FMCG Department for 2020. The fourth generation of directors leading this new division, the group is precisely targeting the current trends for the next decade in FMCG.
The group's experience in hospitality management started in the 1990's during the Luxury Resort/Hotels boom in Mauritius. We participated in the design and supply of the Resort's industrial kitchens for The Oberoi, Radisson, Hilton, Maritim, Berjaya to name a few.
This department has now evolved into Residential, Commercial, Office, Hospitality & Restaurant management in various regions.

The new Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development Division is the driving force for our 20-year commitment to bringing clean energy to the Indian Ocean region and beyond, in partnership with EPC contractors and renewable energy specialists such as MEECO.
